Hi friends, sharing an extra little tip this week-because I think clearing energy each day is super important =)
Let’s talk about bedtime—not just the Netflix-scrolling, glass-of-water-forgotten, let-me-check-my-email-one-last-time kind of bedtime. I mean real bedtime, the sacred pause before sleep where you clear the cobwebs of the day and prepare yourself for genuine rest. Because here’s the thing: sleep is supposed to restore us. But if we bring the mental and energetic clutter of the day into bed with us, we’re basically parking a dusty car in an already-cramped garage and expecting it to emerge a shiny convertible by morning. Spoiler: it won’t.
That’s where my nightly ritual comes in. As a breathwork practitioner, I believe deeply in the power of intention and breath—not just for calming the mind but for moving stuck energy out of the body. Think of this as an energetic rinse cycle. No tools or gadgets required, just your breath, your intention, and a willingness to let go.
The Practice:
This practice is best done lying down in bed, where comfort is key. Get into your preferred sleeping position (because let’s be honest, if you doze off mid-practice, it’s a win). The focus is on exaggerated inhales and exhales—the kind that often trigger a big yawn. These deep breaths are like the broom sweeping the dusty garage floor. With each inhale and exhale, you’ll intentionally release what no longer serves you.
Here’s how:
Release anything that happened today.
Yes, anything. The joy, the stress, the awkward conversation with the cashier, the triumph of finally getting through your inbox—it all has to go. Why? Because even the good stuff, if held too tightly, can create pressure. Let it all dissolve with each breath.Release anything that didn’t happen today.
Ah, those unchecked to-do lists and unmet expectations. The laundry that’s still sitting in the dryer. The workout that didn’t happen. The email you meant to send but didn’t. Exhale it all out. Tomorrow’s another day.Release stale, stagnant energy.
This is the energetic equivalent of airing out a room. Anything heavy, sluggish, or just plain weird that’s lingering? Bye. Big yawn-worthy exhales will help move that energy out.Release any energy projected onto you.
We’re energetic sponges, soaking up the vibes of everyone we encounter. Someone’s bad mood, an annoying comment, or even a passing glance can leave a mark. Use your breath to shake it all off—none of it is yours to carry.
Pro Tip:
Complete as many rounds as you need, pausing between each to feel into your body. Notice if there’s any tension or tightness lingering. Maybe your shoulders need a little wiggle, or your neck wants a gentle stretch. Move intuitively.
And here’s the kicker: don’t overthink it. Your breath and intention are powerful enough. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s simply presence.

When you take a moment to clear the energy of the day, you’re signaling to your body that it’s safe to let go and surrender to rest. You’re creating a blank slate for your mind, body, and spirit—a fresh canvas for whatever dreams and insights the night may bring.
